Challenge Canberra Aquabike – 1.9km Swim + 90km Bike

Get ready for the CHALLENGE CANBERRA Aquabike — a spectacular test of endurance featuring a 1.9km swim and 90km bike on Sunday, 16 November 2025. This flagship middle-distance event is also a World Qualifying Race for the 2026 Multisport World Championships in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

With the event now based at Black Mountain Peninsula, athletes will experience one of the most scenic and spectator-friendly setups in the country. The 1.9km swim takes place in the calm, sheltered waters off the peninsula — perfect for a fast, controlled start to the day, with great vantage points for supporters along the foreshore.

Then it’s onto the new 90km bike course, featuring smooth, flowing roads and some of Canberra’s most iconic riding sections. Athletes will tackle Lady Denman Drive and the famous Parks Way stretch, offering a mix of flat, fast segments and minor undulations that make for a dynamic, high-speed course. It’s the kind of ride where aero gains meet scenic views — fast, honest, and beautifully balanced.

After the ride, Aquabike athletes will head back into T2 at Black Mountain Peninsula, where they can take the finishing tape down the Challenge Canberra chute and celebrate their achievement with family, friends, and supporters or call it a day after they enter transition, the choice is yours.
