Challenge Canberra! Challenge 1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21.1km run! This spectacular race will be held over two days, Saturday 15 November and Sunday 16 November 2025! The flagship middle distance event is also a World Qualifying Event for 2026 Multi Sports World Championships in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Canberra is the Capital of Australia and is accessible from every city in Australia and only a three hour drive from Sydney. The airport is only 6km from the city with bundles of accommodation available and riding distance to the event site.
The Challenge Canberra course is one of the most exciting courses in Australia with iconic landmarks and a scenic course that starts in the central basin of Lake Burley Griffin, a swim course that allows for all those supporters to watch every stroke you do from start to finish.
The new bike course proposed for 2025 just gets better and faster with the potential for the Challenge Australia long course in 2026. It is a magnificent out and back closed course. Hot mix and a perfect roads on our parkways will help with the fast times as you make your way upto the Tuggeranong Parkway and Majura Parkway two times. A course that you have been dreaming for. Feel free to take in the scenery.
From there as you head out onto a slightly amended run course that moves athletes away from the busy foreshore at the start and up and around the back of Commonwealth Park. This three lap 7km run works its way back along the Lake Burley Griffin foreshore and across Commonwealth Bridge with views of Australia’s Parliament House right in front of you. You then get to run around the beautiful Lennox Gardens before you make your way back to the race venue. The course is fast with some undulations will still see some superfast run splits, with plenty of people cheering you on to the finish line on Rond Terrace.
