Challenge Canberra – Olympic Distance Triathlon
At CHALLENGE CANBERRA, we have a true festival of distances — there’s a race for every athlete. If the middle distance feels a little out of reach, then the Olympic is your next best challenge: 1.5km swim, 40km bike, and 10km run.
The race begins at Black Mountain Peninsula, where athletes will take on a 1.5km swim in calm, sheltered waters with great visibility and strong spectator support. From there, it’s onto the new 40km bike course — a fast, and flowing 2 lap course that takes you along Lady Denman Drive and up onto Tuggeranong Parkway stretch. It’s a smooth, quick course with some undulation and a small gradual climb that will keep all athletes honest. It will reward consistent pacing and smart tactics, ideal for those chasing valuable World Qualifying Event points.
The 10km run is a two-lap course within the Black Mountain Peninsula precinct, featuring lakeside paths, tree-lined sections for shade, and just flat enough to hit a PB off the bike. With plenty of aid stations this is a run you’ll enjoy from start to finish.
The course finishes with a vibrant atmosphere and signature Challenge Family finish line energy — a race that’s equal parts fast, scenic, and unforgettable.
